Nicole Thomson
Born in Queensland, Nicole moved to Sydney in 1996 to join The Song Company, a world-renowned a cappella ensemble with which she performed extensively within Australia and internationally.
Since leaving the group for a free-lance career in 2007, Nicole has found an unexpected niche in music education, working with cellist Rachel Scott for the Australian Children’s Music Foundation (ACMF), working at providing music to primary school children of all races and backgrounds.
Nicole also presents for Jellybeans in Schools, an initiative providing an introduction to music, using singing and percussion instruments. Also employed by Musica Viva In Schools, Nicole brings singing expertise and advice to their “Song Safari” programme, an initiative for school teachers to help them bring music into their classrooms and schools.
Nicole also gives vocal workshops for choirs, vocal ensembles and for university students, teaching them about singing.
Nicole is still actively performing, working with a variety of professional orchestras and other organizations, and has several performances scheduled throughout 2009, both in Sydney and throughout NSW.
