Jeff Debnam

Jeff began his musical life as a trombonist with brass bands, symphonic wind ensembles and Sydney Youth Orchestra. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science (UNSW) in 1985 he commenced a music career as a singer/guitarist. He developed a keen interest in music production, completing studies in Audio Engineering, and continued to expand his performance and recording experience in a range of genres including folk, rock, jazz, swing and popular music.

In 1993 he began lecturing at the Australian Institute of Music (AIM) in the fields of Entertainment Management and Audio Technology, and was Head of Audio at AIM from 2001 to 2007. During this time he continued to perform, compose and produce music, particularly for the Walt Disney Company (Asia). It was during this period that he developed a passion for writing music for children.

Jeff completed a Master of Teaching (Primary) in 2008 and is now looking forward to applying his experience, composing skills and curriculum knowledge in the area of children’s music education.
